Al-Ahly Club Hosts The SATUC World Cup Qualification

Dr. Saad Shalaby, Executive Director of Al-Ahly Club, solidified the Collaboration between Al-Ahly and SATUC

Cairo, Egypt – In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged youth, Al-Ahly Club is set to host the SATUC World Cup qualifiers for boys and girls under the age of 17. The event, taking place on September 27th, will bring together aspiring young athletes from Egypt, Syria, and Sudan, offering them a platform to chase their football dreams.

Sheikha Sheikha Al Thani, Chairperson of SATUC (SATUC – “Sheikha Al Thani’s 3rd World Cup”) played a pivotal role in shaping this historic tournament. Her meeting with Dr. Saad Shalaby, Executive Director of Al-Ahly Club, solidified the cooperation between the two organizations, focusing on the Girls’ World Cup category.

Dr. Saad Shalaby expressed his enthusiasm for an initiative that not only nurtures the dreams of orphaned children but also paves the way for potential future stars in Egyptian sports, both boys and girls. The collaboration between Al-Ahly and SATUC promises to build on past successes, including hosting the qualifiers with the presence of Portuguese star Nuno Gomez.

Sheikha Al Thani extended her gratitude to Dr. Saad Shalabi and Al-Ahly Club for their hospitality and dedication to providing opportunities for orphaned children to realize their potential.
The qualifiers will feature 100 boys and 100 girls under 17 years of age vying for spots on the Egyptian national teams. Ten boys and ten girls will be selected to represent Egypt in their respective categories. Additionally, qualifiers for the Syrian and Sudanese teams will take place, with the aim of selecting players for their respective national teams.

The SATUC Foundation, under Sheikha Al Thani’s leadership, is committed to including communities affected by war and displacement in its charitable endeavors. This extends to Syrian and Sudanese communities who have found refuge in Egypt.

In a groundbreaking move, the SATUC Foundation has opened participation to girls for the first time, aligning with its commitment to gender equality.

Sheikha Al Thani believes that the SATUC World Cup provides a unique opportunity for young talents to shine in the world’s most popular sport, potentially discovering future football stars among them.

SATUC, led by Sheikha Al Thani, previously organized two successful editions of the SATUC World Cup, with the participation of several countries and international stars.

This year’s qualifiers will uphold the tradition of making dreams come true for orphaned children, reinforcing the notion that opportunities, no matter how small, can lead to monumental achievements in sports and beyond.
