300 Syrian refugee children | SATUC hosted at the SATUC World Cup Cairo

SATUC to host 300 Syrian refugee children at the 2015 SATUC Cup. On Sunday 19th April, SATUC representatives in Egypt met with Ghassan Kamel, a representative of the Syria Al-Gad Relief Foundation to discuss the Syrian team’s participation in the upcoming 2015 SATUC Cup. The Syria Al-Gad Relief Foundation are in turn the partner of our own UK partners and friends Syria Relief – for more information on the invaluable work they do, click the link www.syriarelief.org.uk

The discussion was not limited to the tournament, however, with SATUC finding out more about the Syrian refugees’ day-to-day lives, their backgrounds, their dreams for the future, and how SATUC might be best placed to help them.

Following this very open and heartfelt discussion, SATUC has come to the decision to invite no fewer than 300 Syrian orphans to attend the SATUC Cup 2015 to experience the festivities and support their compatriots representing Syria at the tournament. SATUC will also organize fun and cultural activities for them during their 3-day stay so that their trip is as rich and rewarding as it possibly can be. SATUC will be covering all costs related to transport, food & board, and other sundry costs. We are so excited to be welcoming all these children to the tournament and we hope they will take many smiles and memories away from it. We know everyone involved will be so happy to see them there.

Furthermore, following the discussions at the meeting, SATUC representatives will be visiting the Syrian team members in Cairo tomorrow the 21st of April to find out more about these brave and talented children and to finalize the agreement for their participation in the tournament. Like their 300 brothers and sisters who will be watching them, we are thrilled to have them compete in the tournament!
