Nader El Sayed

Playing as a goalkeeper, Nader gained over 100 caps during his 13 years with The Pharaohs, becoming a national team legend in the process. During his distinguished club career, Nader has had spells with various top Egyptian Premier League sides such as Al-Masry, Zamalek and Al Ahly to name but a few – he also played for top-flight Belgian team Club Brugge.

Amongst his many notable achievements, Nader won the African Cup of Nations in 1998 and captained the Egyptian team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He was also the first Egyptian goalkeeper to be chosen twice as best keeper in African Cup of Nations (1998 & 2000) since 1957. Nader was also famous for saving penalties, stopping 21 of them over his career and in the process winning many tournaments for club and country.
