Graduating from Cairo University with a bachelor’s degree in commerce, SATUC Head Coach Abd El Badie has been active in various industries, working for Kia Motors, CIG and Piraeus Bank amongst others over the last 20 years, but throughout his passion has only ever been for football.

Although a gifted player himself, Abd El Badie’s main interest has always been in coaching and he made his first major breakthrough in 2005 when he was appointed manager of the Egyptian national Futsal team – Futsal is a variant of football played on a smaller field with a smaller and heavier ball, it can be considered a version of five-a-side football; the surface, ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in tight spaces.

This focus on technique, skill and teamwork is very much a blueprint for Abd El Badie’s successful teams over the years. Two of his most noteworthy achievements in this phase of his career include taking the Egytian team to two different FIFA Futsal World Cups in Brazil and Thailand, no mean feat.

A year later, Abd El Badie’s talent and success was recognised through his appointment as manager of the Egyptian Beach Football team – another variant of the beautiful game which is increasing massively in popularity and which, like Futsal, is more and more seen as a crucial stepping stone in the development of some of the world’s biggest football stars.

Abd El Badie held both these roles jointly until 2013 when he left for a new and exciting challenge, namely to become manager of the Sudanese Beach football team, an exciting brand of the game in a country where football is really taking off.

Dedicated as he is to the training and development of young players, Abd El Badie has also coached at various football camps and academies over the years, including stints as the Nadina Academy Head Coach, the Arsenal Academy Bud General Coach and the Wadi Degla Academy Bud General Coach.

Abd El Badie has successfully managed to balance his commitments as manager of national teams alongside his efforts as a more local and regional coach winning as manager both the Egypt Futsal Cup and the Egypt Futsal League with El Shams Club, which he adds to the various futsal trophies he won as a player (eg. Egypt Futsal League, Singapore Futsal Tiger Tournament, Cairo Regional Futsal Championship, Arab Futsal Championship to name a few).

Abd El Badie already holds his CAF Management Licence, his CAF Coaching Licence B and C to complement his various internationally accredited certificates for Futsal and Beach Football.

We at SATUC have every confidence that he will be a perfect match for us and the 2017 SATUC Cup and that the boys will thrive under his leadership.
